There is little argument that humans living today are dealing with more information, stress, and pain than ever. Social media, 24-hour news, and instant feeds from around the world are creating an avalanche of data and bad news that our minds and emotions are unable to process or sympathize with. News anchors, posts, and podcasts incessantly scream of all the things that can hurt us, kill us, or make us old before our time. We live in a fear-based society.

Consequently, we have become desensitized and overwhelmed. We’ve unintentionally morphed into a life with little or no margin. It’s no wonder so many of us are wrestling with anxiety, depression, and fear.

What to do?

My suggestion is rather simple and involves three modest actions:

  1. A nap
  2. A meal
  3. A walk
Naturally, a nap, meal, and walk will not instantly resolve the nagging angst and worries of this world. Only ignorance would suggest three simple, easy methods even exist that will suddenly have you overcoming the complexities of anxiety and fear.

The truth is, there is no simple answer but that’s not to say these three habits aren’t a great place to begin as they indicate rest, health, and margin amongst our chaotic lives.

Perhaps an even better suggestion: check out episode 24, as Ali Gentry shares her thoughts on this critical issue.
